The Preparatory Division presents a balanced curriculum of performance training, theoretical study, ear training, and ensemble experience. NCC orchestra is a Beethoven-sized orchestra (strings and winds) which performs a wide range of repertoire from the Baroque to Contemporary periods. AP Music Theory

This course is a preparation for AP Music Theory Test, to earn college credit. The ultimate goal of an AP Music Theory course is to develop a student's ability to recognize, understand, and describe the basic materials and processes of music that are heard or presented in a score.(8 wks intensive course)

The Early Childhood program is designed to introduce and explore study of music through movement and is based on the interaction of ear, mind, and body. Classes nurture the imagination while encouraging musical exploration leading to an integral understanding of musical concepts and skills. Through this learning process, students discover the body as a uniquely expressive musical instrument.

Class Voice
Developments of technical knowledge, tone production and performance skills for voice. Emphasis will be given to the factor of voice physiology, function, sound production and to the diagnosis and correction of vocal faults.

Jazz Piano
Studying of jazz melodies, improvise, playing in time, creating intros, interludes and endings, the use of dynamics and balance between the hands. Emphasis will be on rhythm, jazz harmony, time and feel.
